We Need Your Help!
After three years of involvement in Battlebots, and a national high school victory under our belts, we decided that it was time to go pro. With a student at the University of South Florida, another at Carnegie Mellon University, and a professional engineer in industry combining their knowledge and understanding of all things mechanical and electrical, the team is set to do well. plastic parts done!
All my plastic parts (with the exception of my wheels) are done. I had to completely remake the little u-channel caps for the drive motors. I also had to replace a motor, since one that I picked up at robotmarketplace had a broken tab on it. Thanks Steve for replacing that for me!! :] I need to come up with a way to restrict the third dimension of movement on these motors - a zip tie isn't strong enough to squeeze them enough so they don't move. I can order aluminum hose clamps that fit in the slot I milled, so I may do that and hope that works... otherwise, hot-melt glue is a perfectly reasonable option. I ordered the fingertech tinyESCs a few days ago, and I'm waiting for those to show up. Today I was hoping to get up to Alro metals to pick up my aluminum for the frame and steel for the drum, but I don't think that's going to happen... I have 2 weeks to finish this bot!!
