Follow the combined efforts of the Curhans and Eddie Burgess as they prepare for BATTLEBOTS 2010!
We Need Your Help!

After three years of involvement in Battlebots, and a national high school victory under our belts, we decided that it was time to go pro. With a student at the University of South Florida, another at Carnegie Mellon University, and a professional engineer in industry combining their knowledge and understanding of all things mechanical and electrical, the team is set to do well. If you would like to support our efforts, please send us an email at dancurhan@gmail.com and let us know that you are interested. There are many ways of supporting us!

Design phase started

After studying all the bots at Battlebots 2009, we have converged on a few conceptual ideas to create our own murderous machines. I have decided to make a 15 lb drum bot (tentatively named conundrum) in the style of Copperhead. I have a complete CAD model drawn and a 3D solidworks version (complete with bearings, screws, etc.) of the bot. It weighs in at a staggering 16.7 lbs even with a titanium drum (and we were planning on using steel!). I think some revisions need to be made. I have put this bot on display on my facebook, and on the battlebots forum that I started, to see what kind of input people have. Everything fits inside perfectly so dimensionally, it is pretty optimal. I can't wait to build it! This will likely be the first bot we complete. There is a 220 in the air, and if we have enough money, perhaps a 120 as well. Follow this blog to keep track of our progress as BATTLEBOTS 2010 approaches!

  1. This is going to be a very unique team, and well worth the time and effort to follow and support. In our own way each of us bring something different to the table, providing a comprehensive spectrum of skills, experience, creativity and battlebots enthusiasm.

Our past accomplishments in and out of battlebots has been notable, and we have every intention of maintaining this tradition with our new pro team.
