We Need Your Help!

After three years of involvement in Battlebots, and a national high school victory under our belts, we decided that it was time to go pro. With a student at the University of South Florida, another at Carnegie Mellon University, and a professional engineer in industry combining their knowledge and understanding of all things mechanical and electrical, the team is set to do well. 1 pounders

There are two fairy-ant-beetleweight competitions coming up in southwest florida - BARF (bay area robot fights) in tampa 6/20 and GCRS (gulf coast robot sports) 7/11 at hobby marketplace in bradenton. So, I am designing a bot (as is my father) to build and bring to compete with.

So far, mine's a fully invertible copperhead-style drum bot. The drum (in solidworks) weighs .27 lbs, spun by two EFL-300-1380 Park 300 brushless outrunners and a 2S thunder power 910mAh LiPo pack. I have no name for the project yet, but it will probably be another play on words using "drum" somewhere, like "boredrum" or "bumbledrum" or "druminator" or "drumatophobia" (domatophobia is the abnormal fear of being in a house)... something like that.

I will post screenshots of my CAD model when I have one done.

Dan
